It was declared the cleanest village in Asia in the year 2003 by Discovery India. In the months from September to November plan a trip to this place and explore some outstanding places like- Bophill Falls, Umgrem Falls, Mawlynnong Waterfall, Living root bridge and Riwai village. There are some other places too to explore when in Mawlynnong.
Dawki is a small border town in the serene Jaintia hills, It is the prominent centre of trade between India and Bangladesh. This particular place can be visited in any season. The weather remains pleasant throughout the year. Visit the famous river- Umngot or the Dawki river here. This place provides picturesque views of the Meghalayan landscapes. This town is a fantastic vantage point for admiring the Khasi and Jaintia Hills.
Baghmara the beautiful place is located at about 287kms south of Shillong at the Indo-Bangladesh border. It truly is rich in flora and fauna. It welcomes travellers with its fantabulous lakes, rivers and marvellous hills. Head towards this serene location in the months from October to January and explore some astounding places like- Siju Bird Sanctuary, Simsang, Siju caves, Baghmara reserve forest and a lot more other places of your interest.
