History
The Ranakpur village is famous for its marble Jain temple. A small sun temple is also there in this village. Pieces of evidence point to the fact that a local business person, a Jain, had initiated the construction of the temple around the 15th century his name was Dharma Shah.
It is believed that it is out of his divine vision that he was prompted to initiate the temple construction. This Jain temple at Ranakpur is dedicated to Tirthankara Adinatha.
