What is Kanha Tiger Reserve famous for?

It also showcases the struggle for the conservation of the flora and fauna, shaping up of the National reserve to topographic information. It is maintained by the Forest Department of Madhya Pradesh and adds up to the beauty of this reserve.

Get the serene view of the sunset from the Bamni Dadar- one of the most attractive spots of the National Reserve. Capture animals like- Gaur, Sambar, Barking Deer and Four Horned Antelope in your lenses and enjoy the sunset views. Enjoy bird watching through the attractive paths in between the woods of the park. There are two nearest railway stations to Kanha Tiger Reserve- Gondia that is 145kms away and Jabalpur railway station that is 165kms away from Kanha.

Road

Kanha is located just 165kms from the Jabalpur city in Madhya Pradesh. It enjoys a good connection by road to all the parts of the state. Numerous tourist taxis are available for transport from Jabalpur to Kanha.

Best time to visit

The perfect time to explore Kanha Tiger Reserve is from October to June end. Travellers can enjoy the Wildlife Safari-like- jeep safari, elephant safari, nature trails, and cycling to the travellers. 

Summer

The months from April to June are the summer months with the maximum temperature hovers around 43°C. The weather remains hot.

Monsoon

July till September is witnessed with the monsoon season. The park remains closed for the tourists as the roads are not navigable during this season.

Winter

The months from November to February are considered to be the winter months and the weather is quite cold during this season. The temperature at this particular season ranges between 23.9°C to 11.1°C.
