Seasons for Har ki Dun Trek
Summer

How To Reach
By Rail
Dehradun railway station is the nearest railway station that is connected to the major cities of India like Delhi, Lucknow, etc. From the railway station, you can hire local bus private vehicles for a taxi to reach Sankri which is the base camp for the trek.
By Road
There are many government buses, taxis, and that run from Delhi to the Dehradun bus stand. On reaching Dehradun you can take a local bus to Dehradun Railway station and from there you will be picked up in Tata Sumo or some similar category vehicle. The total distance between Dehradun and Sankri is around 217 km which can be covered in the time period of 10 hours.
By Air
Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest airport which is located in Dehradun. From the airport, you can hire any local vehicle for a cab to reach the point from where you will be picked up in Tata Sumo or similar vehicle.
Best Time for Har Ki Dun Trekking
The best and ideal time for going on Har Ki Doon trek is from April to June month and again from September till December month that is post monsoon months. During the winter month due to the presence of snow the trek becomes more thrilling and adventures. So you can choose winter months if you are interested in snow trekking.
Points to be taken into consideration
You need to have a trekking stick without that you can't Move in the mountains.
Altitude sickness is a condition that can happen so if you experience any symptoms such as minor headaches, general discomfort or nausea then you? can directly contact the trek leader. Each campsite is having stretches, oxygen cylinders, and other medical facilities.
If the weather conditions become unfavorable during the trek then the decision of trek guides and trek leader is final and you need to follow it.
If you are having any minor or major injuries during the trek then you can contact the trek leaders as they are certified wilderness First Aid responders, and there are stretchers on each campsite on which you can be taken to the nearest medical center.
Walkie talkie will be used for communicating from the camping sites to the base camp as there are no networks available in cellphones.
No tight on body-hugging clothes are allowed.
You need to wear light clothes which can dry easily.
Your body should be fully hydrated and you need to carry a water bottle along with you on the trek.
A pair of raincoats should be taken along on the trek.
You should have good Sports or trekking shoes.
While moving upward you should put down your heel first and while coming downwards you need to walk on your flat foot.

Ans: The last ATM is located in Mori town which is having the SBI Bank with an ATM. At times you can find that the ATM machine is not working in that case you can withdraw your cash at the withdrawal Centre or through cards.
Que: How long do we need to walk for Har Ki Doon trek on each day?
Ans: You need to walk for around 7 to 10 km each which will take from 5 to 7 hours. But the complete trek is done with proper halt so it doesn’t seem that difficult.

Tour Itinerary
The right to change amend or modify the itinerary of the tour at any time. We will notify you with such changes in prior over the phone or through the mail or the best communication method available at that point of time. Those changes may occur due to situations beyond our control like weather problems, cancellations of trains, flights, and political unrest, etc. We will try our best to keep the tour unchanged. However, any compensation or any refund due to such changes will not be paid by us.
Hotel Bookings
Hotel bookings are made by us on behalf of our customers. We are having a tie-up with many hotels. Although all rates are updated on our website, still there are chances that the rates of Hotels may go up/down. Sometimes rates of the hotel are hiked during long weekends and during festive seasons. It is better that you confirm the rates before making an online payment over the mail. The quality of the room, amenities or meals which are displayed in photos on hotel websites may vary. Booking of the rooms on the same floor/adjacent rooms/ non-smoking rooms in any hotel is not guaranteed. The right to change the pre-booked hotel or the category of rooms is reserved, anytime during the tour due to overbooking of a hotel, blocking of the sewage, electricity/water failure, etc.
Check-in/ Check-out times of hotels / Resorts may vary from city to city. please check these timings before making the booking. Early check-in and late checkout will be charged extra and are subject to the availability of the rooms. Policies for accommodating children and for extra beds may vary from hotel to hotel.
Vehicle Bookings
Vehicles are booked on behalf of our customers. We aim to provide the best available vehicle with the best services to our clients. The costs of diesel/petrol prices, interstate taxes, vehicle maintenance cost, toll & taxes, etc are beyond our control. Rates displayed on our website are eligible for change at any time without any prior notice.
The pre-booked vehicle can be changed to a similar category of vehicle in case of non-availability of the pre-booked vehicle.
Air-conditioned, as well as non-air-conditioned vehicles are booked as per request. If the air conditioner stops working due to technical fault at any time during the tour will not be our responsibility. No refund or change in the vehicle will be made in between the trip unless the vehicle is not in the condition to go further.
Amendments or changes after booking
If you wish to do amendments or change the prior booking, you have to inform us in writing on mail.
Amendment or changes in any booking will be treated as a new booking and will be subject to availability at that time and the additional cost will be charged. The additional cost will be borne by you. There will be an amendment charge of Rs.1000/- applicable.
Cancelation of the booking will be informed to us in writing on mail. The cancellation charges will be applicable depending upon the services. Cancellation of the hotels and airlines will be done according to their own cancellation policies.

Balance Payment
The complete balance payment has to be made before the starting date of the trip. However, the company can ask you anytime to clear the balance payment before 30 days from the date of departure.
The right is reserved to amend/change the prices offered for the tour and to adjust our charges due to various factors like currency fluctuations, special/high season charge levied by the suppliers, fuel price rise, travel arrangements, hike in any government taxes or visa amounts or for any other reason before the date of departure. All such increased prices must be paid before your departure (Full and final).
No refund for unutilized services
There will be no refund or compensation provided for services that are not used. If you fail to avail/use any services due to any reason the company will not provide any kind of refund or any other services as compensation of the unutilized services.
Early morning meet and greet with the representative at the Dehradun railway station and drive toward Sankri (prefer the night journey from Delhi to Dehradun). This is a tiring 10-hour long journey that will take you through the beautiful view of the majestic mountain. On arrival at Sankri around 5 pm, you can explore the market for buying trekking gears. If you forgot to take some woolens along then you can buy them from the market. Then you will check into the guest house and after getting fresh and relaxed by having your evening tea, you will have your dinner in the guest house only. End your day by an overnight stay in a Guesthouse.
Wake up and enjoy your morning in the lap of nature. Get refreshed and have morning breakfast in the guest house and get ready for Taluka. You will be transferred to Taluka via car by travelling a distance of 12 kilometre in around 1 hour. Taluka is located at an elevation of 7000 feets. Now from Taluka you will be trekking towards Pauni Garaat. The total trek distance will be of 10 kilometres which will be covered in approximately 6 hours but since the level of trekking is easy so you will not feel that much tiredness. On the way to Pauni Garaat you will be having a packed lunch and will take a halt at springwater point where you can refill your Water bottles for the trek on arrival you will be witnessing the magnificent beauty of the surrounding now you will be doing Riverside camping in Govind National Park forest area.
The next day after having breakfast you will get refreshed and start the trek towards Kalkattiyadhaar. The total trek distance which is to be covered today is 7 km and it will take approximately 6 hours to complete this trek. The level of trek will be a bit difficult as the Path is bit steeper as compared to the last trek but then also so it will not be that difficult. On the way you will be taking a halt at a spring water point where you can have your packed lunch and can fill your bottles for the further trek. On arrival to Kalkattiyadhaar you will be having a splendid panoramic view of mountains overlooking the Green Meadows which will not only pleasant to eyes but also will rejuvenate the trekkers. Your overnight stay will be in a camp where you will be having your dinner and sound sleep in your camps.
The next day you will be trekking to your main destination , Har ki Doon. After getting refreshed and having breakfast in the camp you will start your trek and will pass through oak and Pine forest and beautiful Green Meadows. You will also be witnessing some small streams and wooden bridges over that stream. on the way you will also encounter patches of snow. On arrival at Har ki Doon Campsite you will be overjoyed as the final ascent of the trek ends here. From your campsite you will be having the view of beautiful peaks of Har ki Doon, there will be a gentle stream which is flowing through to the valleys and the whole scenery becomes magical.
The next day you will be descending from Har ki Doon to Pauni garaat. Today you will be covering the distance of 12 kilometres in the approximate time of 8 hours. In the first part of trek you will be trekking from Har ki Doon to Kalkattiyadhaar by covering the distance of 5 kilometre. Now after taking a halt you will be trekking further from Kalkattiyadhaar to Osla for 5.5 kilometres and on arrival to Osla you will be taking a halt and after the halt you will be trekking further for 1.5 km to reach Pauni garaat. You will be having a halt at springwater point where you can have your packed lunch and can fill your Water bottles. On arrival, today you will be staying in a river side camp located in Govind National Park forest area.
This is the second last day of your Har ki Doon Trek and today you will be trekking from Pauni Garaat to Sankri. The total trekking distance is of 10 kilometres which can be covered in the time span of 5 hours. Your trekking will start from Pauni Garaat and you will Trek to Taluka. On arrival at Taluka you will be picked up in a car and will be taken to Sankri by covering a distance of 12 km in about 1 hour. Then you will check into the guest house and after getting fresh and relaxed by having your evening tea, you will have your dinner in the guest house only. End your day by an overnight stay in a Guesthouse.
This is the last day of your trek today you will be driven from Sankri to Dehradun by covering the distance of 217 km in an approximate time of 10 hours. On the way towards Dehradun you will be having the site of Mori town, Purola, Tons river etc you will be taken to Dehradun through Mussoorie. Before ending your trip you can take a halt at Mussoorie to visit Kempty fall and can also have your afternoon lunch in some restaurants nearby. After that you will be transferred to Dehradun and left with the sweet memories of your trip.
